Ankle Mobility is the Focus but There are Lots of Benefits

This is a complex exercise for breast cancer rehab that focuses on ankle mobility but covers so much more to help you decrease pain and walk better.  There’s no getting around that.

And that’s why I need you to go slow.

It’s especially important to stop, focus on positioning, and take you time so you can get all of the benefits that this exercise has to offer.

This exercise focuses on helping with the biggest problems that breast cancer patients face when trying to increase their walking ability.

Knee Slides help with:

  • Balance (as a stability exercise for core)
  • Knee pain when walking
  • Hip pain with walking
  • Ankle mobility

You may ask how’s this possible?

It’s because this exercise has you working on the foundations.  Stretching for flexibility is an important factor in increasing your ability for walking (and any activity for that matter!).

When you try to increase your walking but you don’t have a solid foundation, you body won’t be able to reach the goals you’ve set for yourself.

When you look at the other benefits with Knee Slides we’ve got one of the best stretches for hip flexors because it’s a slow movement with a neutral posture.

Stretching for achilles tightness can be very difficult but keeping your heel on the ground during Kneel Slides will help loosing up this area of the foot.

And because of the posture we’re using, Kneel Slides is one of the stability exercises for core work that you can integrate safely without a lot of bending or flexing.

So let’s work on those foundations.
